Well that has made my weekend!! Real class from the beeb. Almost worth the licence fee on its own. Mind you, 2 bottles of Duvel may have helped!

Although I'm Tardisless at present I just managed to effortlessly travel a good two years back in time by looking at Our Ex-Aryre's thread on the Pink Salmon Show, quite uncanny really, spooky too.

Absolutely! It was a tongue-in-cheek parody of what 'Dr Who' used to be, with some lovely observational humour on the way we live and 'entertain' ourselves.
As someone else commented, there is a wonderful chemistry between Eccleston and Piper, and I suspect that viewing figures will tumble when David Tenant takes over the lead role.
Personally; I expect him to be a pale shadow of Chris Eccleston's screen presence.

What really made the show so brilliant was the clever, self-depracating script, in-jokes and the affectionate lampooning of science fiction. Completely the opposite of its 60's/70's heyday.
Christopher Ecclestone was the best doctor the show has ever had, so far. Who would ever have thought we would see a working-class, bisexual, Salford doctor. I do think David Tennant is being unfairly written off before he's had a chance to prove himself in some posts. Who seriously rated Billie Piper before the show? She was a pleasant revelation, I'd always (unfairly) had her down as a plastic pop star.
