MFSL CD'S
Posted by: Right Wing on 10 May 2007
I recently bought SD Gaucho on mfsl for about £25 on ebay, I am wondering if anyone else has this and any other albums on mfsl.
I have a few other copies of gaucho but I do not really like the sound quality, the remaster is very tiring - I am hoping that the mfsl version will be better?
Can anyone recommend any other titles on mfsl?
Regards
Peter

Has anyone tried any of the current MFSL Hybrid SACD discs on Naim systems...if so how do they sound.
It is my experience the hybrids from other sources are inferior in normal CD mode than conventional CD's.
Wouldn't necessary agree with you on that one michael. I have quite a number of hybrids that sound great on NAIM.
Dylan
Creendence Clearwater Revival
Derek and the Dominos
Rolling Stones
I like some of the MFSL hybrids. The only one I have reservation about is Dave Alvin- Blackjack David. I have both the HDCD and the hybrid. As on first listen I thought the sacd sounded bright and a different mix but need to listen again.

The MFSL Blackjack David vinyl was excellent. It would be interesting to compare them.

Agreed.
It is also worth pointing out that MFSL is associated with Music Direct, which is one of the primary distributors of Naim Label CDs in the States....

Me too.
However I ordered it from CD Ltd (Jonifan) for about £15 including postage. So even better!

I've just been watching Blackadder and have logged in to receive a response from MOFI to the following email query:

Hi,
I'm trying to get a second order but I'm given an option for postage at over $130 whereas for the order I gave last month i was contacted by email and could choose US post at around $13, which is my preferred option. Why can't I do that this time?
Thanks for the email. The website had changed and we now only using UPS for international shipments.
We apologize about the inconvenience.
Wonderful stuff, don't know which is more surreal, Black Adder or MOFI.

It must be the Visa application charges along with the personal plane and Securicor delivery van that have slightly bumped the charges up.

Recently received the MSFL remastered version of "Marc Cohn" by Marc Cohn. I found it to be absolutely stunning, and a clear improvement over the "regular" CD in my opinion. Well worth the money.
By the way, this is a great album if anyone is thinking of trying it.
