If one goes to google.com and types in 'French military victories' but you click on I'm feeling lucky as opposed to google search it asks you 'Did you mean: french military defeats'
I think this is very right and proper.

Mike,
It was a joke. It seemed to me that google was saying 'yeah right, what military victories, don't you mean military defeats?' - which I found very funny.

Then there is the classic question -
Q - How many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris
Answer - Do not know - It has never been attempted

As did I, I could not believe my eyes and laughed out loud. I've always had this friendly rivaly with the french since playing rugby against St.Cyr (french military academy)when I was at sandhurst and later when training french squash players. We would all get together for drinks and the banter would start. It always ended in tears for the french as the score card for the battles of Crecy and Agincourt show a more complete vistory over vastly superior numbers than have ever been recorded in the history of warfare. The french got a degree of revenge over me when I went with french friends to see france play rugby against england in Paris. France won and I had to buy the drinks.

Ah yes, a close run thing actually. Fought after the english marched all the way down from Stamford Bridge having seen of Harald hardrada and still had the energy to fight all day against the Normans. Note I say Normans not French. On a point of pedantry Normandy was separate from France and was a second generation viking settlement. You better get your facts right before taking me on Musk.

Ok I'll be the spoilsport and point out that it's not real. Sadly it's a joke. Check the URL of the page you're reading and you'll see it's not actually Google telling you this. It's still funny though.
