Bluetooth Devices for Computers

I have two IBM laptops (for Miss D and Mrs D) Both are Bluetooth enabled. I have had one for two and a half years, the other just a few weeks.

A quick visit to PC World last week revealed not a single Bluetooth device.

I am specifically looking for a Bluetooth mouse, preferably Microsoft. Any ideas????

I was also looking for a Bluetooth "Hub". ie a device to which I could connect all our cabled periferals eg mouse, scanner, printer etc and hopefully have the "hub" Bluetooth radio connect them to the laptops. Any ideas?????

Or is this just obsolete technology that never got off the ground?

Cheers

Just do a Google or E-bay search and see what pops up.

I was in my local Tesco's the other day and they had what you are looking for. But remember their stuff is the cheap 'n' cheerful side of the market. Any decent computer shop should be able to help you. Personally I would stick to a wireless set up as they usually contain a very good firewall which I have never seen with Bluetooth.

Don,

If there is such a device than I haven't come across it. There are some usb hubs with bluetooth but they need to be conected to a PC via usb to work and are intended to add bluetooth to an otherwise non-bluetooth PC.

Regards,

Willy.

Have a look here or indeed here.

There are a couple of problems - battery life and latency ( lag between moving the mouse and the pointer moving), neither should be too much of a problem as long as they are not used 24/7.

Actually quite annoying if you use the PC for some time. after a few hours a day, you'll really start getting annoyed... Frown
Even battery life becomes a pain..

A bluetooth hub in the sense you mention is not possible the available 'bandwidth' of bluetooth is too small for anything other than keyboard/mouse/phone

'big' commands would not get through and loads of them at once would be a mare.

As for bluetooth mice there are plenty available however you went to PC world.
