Any thoughts on preferred interconnect to use for audio between DVD5 and AV2.
Naim DC1, Chord Signature........

The DC1 is utterly brilliant in my system. It wiped the floor with other i/cs. There is another contender, and a discussion has taken place here about a year ago on this. Cant remember who it was now.
If you can get them on demo for home use do so.

I never wanted to beleive that a cable transfering bits of data (1s & 0s) could alter the sound, after all data is merely data, isn't it? But oh boy, they can & do!

I must say that I'm not a big supporter of expensive cabling. I've always tended to go down the route of get some better quality stuff, but kinda average and then the law of diminishing returns kicks in big time on cables.

However, using Chord Prodac from a DVD5 to an AV2 and then becoming the fortunate owner of a Naim DC1 cable, I must say that I'm sold on that cable. Worth every penny. I honestly couldn't believe the difference it made.

Never would have thought I'd have said that. Well worth the money :-)

To put an alternative POV:

I was completely underwhelmed by the DC1, which I borrowed twice for extended periods.

In fairness I used it between my DVD5 and Benchmark DAC1, not direct to my AV2.

The eventual winner was the Stereovox HXV1 ...I think. You can get it on sale or return for 75, wiped the DC1 in my system.

My advice ...do a comparison.

I wanted to buy the DC1 but it was only available in 1M or 5M lengths (at the time, I'm not sure about now). I need 1.5M and was very surprised that Naim would not make a custom length. I opted for the Chord Signature instead, upgrading from a Chord Prodac and was mightily impressed.

Nick,

I prefered the ProDAC to the DC1, and the Stereovox to the P.

M,

Then I should be pleased with my choice. Thanks for the input.
