Too bad I can't read Japanese!

This guy's up to all sorts of cool stuff:

Can anyone give us the broad gist of what's going on?

"backnumbers" in the Essay section seem to link to the bulk of his site.

Check out his system:

Crikey!

I've got this, too!

To top it all off, he seems to collect (but not actually build) plastic models as well.

He may very well be the brother I never had!

This is clearly a man of considerable taste and discernment. Not just a stack of half-width chrome-bumper Naim (oh god oh god) but check out the strap on that Leica...

Haven't seen "real" Mission-flavoured Cyrus for ages -- the upward facing sockets were a really neat idea. If I were a computer manufacturer I would be very intrigued.

Best;

Mark

As I understand it wiring the 12s / Snaps / 140 the way Naim intend it makes the cute little manga chick a little distressed, yet when the signal and power are separated using a non-standard cable she is full of joy. It would appear she may not yet fully grasp Naim’s star-earthing concept.

I just love the diagram though… a really cool site.

akituki-san,

Thanks for everything. Looks like I've been mentioned on the site! It's a shame that Babelfish only translates 1/2 of each page.

Yes, pretty much everything on his site mirrors my interests. Have you guys heard of Combat Mission in Japan? Seeing as you guys are into old boardgames about Tobruk, I think you love this one.

I don't know much about antique cameras, but I do own a Canon AE-1. Like everything, they certainly don't make them like they used to.
Oh, I'm glad you found some use for my site.

I wonder what the "Electromagnetic Fieldmeter" is for?

best,
mike

Hi Mike:

If that's not Harmony Angel from cloud base, then someone's peddling Spectrum technology.

Yotti–san,

I used to connect up my 102 Hicap 110’s in exactly the same way you have shown in the diagram. This method maintains the correct 0V sourcing, but allows a cleaner path for the signal.

Now I have a different arrangement which works very well. A five pin snaic links the pre-amp to the hicap in the usual way, but with the earth lead disconnected at the hicap end – the snaic earth is still connected at the pre-amp end to act as a screen. A separate 0V lead is directly connected between the pre-amp and the hicap, using both cores of some A5 speaker cable. This gives a much lower impedance 0V path between the pre-amp and power supply, it dramatically improves the performance of the pre-amp.

I connect my power amps to the hicap as standard, as this gives the best results after carrying out the above modification.
