Bob Dylan Vs Neil Young

There really is no doubt at all.
Both are hugely talented maverick performers who have and will continue to do just exactly as they please.
One still offers consistent live performances, and the other infrequently.
Both currently produce interesting if patchy recordings.
One changed the face of popular music forever and the other didn't!

Love them both, but tend to play Neil Young more. Have seen them both live and even if Dylan can be very, very good live I prefer Neil Young.

I'd much rather listen to Young than Dylan.
A very good friend of mine once said that if he got THAT kind of guitar sound out of his equipment he (my friend) would throw it out the window. But Young made records with it--brilliant!

Voted for Neil, but think Bob is more important

Hi there,
Bob is certainly more important when considering history of rock music at least did he write more songs that influenced others.
Last year I had the opportunity to see both of them live within 48 hours. And Dylan (with his band) performed great. And if Dylan plays his great songs with a great band on a great Dylan day then Neil cannot compete...
Just my opinion, of course...

I really do not like Dylan but think Young is very good although ultimately both are overated!

Well, if I'm not delving into the classical collection then it's usually Neil Young who gets an airing. Bob tends to gather dust on the shelves although I have to admit to listening to "Blood on the Tracks" a few nights back. Got to be Neil then....

Dylan digs Neil Young too:
"I'm listening to Neil Young, I gotta turn up the sound..."
- from Highlands.
