Ex Cotton Mather frontman, Robert Harrison (possibly George's long lost bastard love child) new band They have a new double disc and pretty much every song is a winner. I saw them last night with about 30 other die-hards. I even left P-Funk early to catch them... just go buy it! They're gonna be HUGE!!!!

I've been privileged to have this Album for over a year now in a pre release form, and it's the best thing that I heard last year. Robert Harrison is soooooooo tallented. It's that rarest of things a double CD without any padding. They deserve every success, they're a natural progression from Cotton Mather, whilst still retaining that bands gret hooks. I hope they are huge I've just bought the officail version of the Cd so I'm doing my bit! Weren't Cotton Mather a great live band too.

Off topic...I was thinking about you the other week - have you come across L.E.O. - a loose band put together by Bleu to pay homage to his heroes ELO?

He managed to persuade his chum Andy Sturmer (who also has a thing for Jeff Lynne) to come out of hiding and participate in co-writing and singing/playing on a couple of tracks.

See here for full versions of the tracks - pure 70s ELO-style plagiarism but a lot of fun.

Robert was going to sign the band to a UK record label run by a friend of mine and we had copies of the album. I so wanted to tell every one about it but thought it best not to until things were official, it transpired that because of another big (for this label anyway) release (which is still being worked upon) they copuldn't really do Robert Justice in the sort of time frame that he needed, so he put it out himself. I think also that most labels would have wanted, for reasons of economy not content, to trim it down to a single CD, which he definately didn't want and would have been a shame. It's been in my car player every since, it's one of those record that I loved instantly but also grew in stature. Everybody need a copy!
I hope he has a huge success he desrves it, you're luck to be able to see him live, not sure if he'll tour Europe again, although CM were quite popular here, they were due to open for Oasis a few years back on their festival gigs but Robert injured his back and they missed out. I think they would have blown Oasis away.

Excellent.

I've just ordered a couple of albums that I think will make you pop your cork - a mixture of Beach Boys, Jellyfish and XTC. I'll post my findings when they arrive...and then you can tell me you already knew about them!
