Was James Taylor born to be heard on Naim equipment?

I have never heard his voice reproduced better than on Naim gear.

If you agree what is the best JT track in your opinion.

Tricky; with such a prolific output.

Oldies for me, would have to be:

'Fire and rain' and 'Shower the people' and my modern favourite; 'Gaia' from the wonderful 'Hourglass'.

Get a USA produced copy of this album. Like most; it sounds better than the UK/EU crap we get foisted off with.

'New Moon Shine' is good as well.

Have you heard his beautifully subtle backing vocals on Marc Cohn's 'Perfect Love'?

Here in the US Sony are using JT's offerings to tout their SACD Technology in heavily rotated radio comercials.

"Close your eyes and you are there".....

Personally I will stick to my Naim player but a lot of singer/songwriter stuff sounds great on Naim equipment. Loudon Wairwright III a particular favorite and in 'heavy rotation' in the Kirby household.....

Regards

Andy

Every single note James has ever sung sounds fantastic no matter where I've heard it. The man is a treasure.

He contributed to a wonderful album called 'appalachian journey' by yo-yo ma, edgar meyer and mark o'connor. Mostly instrumentals, but a couple of vocals by James and Alison Krauss

His track sounds absolutely stunning ... especially on a Naim system

It was mentioned in a long-ago thread on the HiFi forum that Linn Saras(pre Sara 9 version) have the magical ability to make absolutely everyone sound like James Taylor. big grin

Alison Krauss ... another one who can do no wrong in my book. How about an Alison Krauss-James Taylor-Union Station project? I can dream ...
