Cricket - Scotland Vs Australia

I see that the Scotland XI are playing Australia, wonder what they are going to do after lunch ....

That's fighting talk.. but very true.

When I was 13 years old I went to shall we say a 'rough' school, Dux of the school got a couple of 'O' levels and jail was a potential career break.

Anyhow for my sins I opened the 'batting' for our school 'cricket' team. Nae whites, nae pads, nae gloves - you get the picture. Well we went one Saturday to play the local Academy - the local posh school. We were all out for 9, game over by 10am, decided on another innings, all out for 7, game over by 10.30. Some of our lower order 'batsmen' decided to change sports to one where they had a chance - street-fighting, game over by 10.35. We were all whipped to within an inch of our lives on Monday morning for shaming the 'school'.

Ah those halcyon days.....

Not so bad, Australia 334 for 6 after 50 overs. Scotalnd in now, 11 runs for 0 wickets

Which would therefore suggest that there were no other better of any nationality.

At least us Scots (not Jocks please as that is derogatory) have a superiority in your lives somewhere...............

I did notice history repeating itself. Freddie gets stranded whilst drunk in a pedalo (circa 2007) Jimmy Johnstone gets stranded whilst drunk in a rowing boat (circa 1974)... at least Johnstone did'nt have to play the next day. Heard the Scottish captain on tele last night. A lovely highland lilt in his voice. The highlands of Johannesburg I think...
