POWER CONSUMPTION OF NAC82

Posted by: king on 11 July 2002

Folks,

Need your help on this.

I was offered a used Nac82 last week.
BUt when I had a look at the interial, I found some resisters are "blackened" - seems to me they are burnt.
As there was no complete sysem at that time, I did not listen to it but it lighted up when powered.

Seems like the resisters are 0.25W ones, which I think is far too low for it.

Does anyone know if the 0.25W resisters are the correct value?
Also, what is the power consumption of a pre-amp anyway?

Thanks in advance.

Could it be lightning damage?

Doesn't sound healthy at all!

Could be the work of a 'home made' or 'modified' power supply, what was the 82 used with?

However if it is the 'right price' and a service would be in order, you could have a freshly seviced 82 for a reasonable price.

Only you can make that decision though frown

Good luck either way.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your advice.

I think I better stay clear from it.
The thing is he doesn't even have a price in mind to sell...............

Thanks again.
