Naim Owners Club - 1000 Al***s - What's the best Deep Purple elpee

My vote went to Concerto for Group and Orchestra, but on seconds thoughts it should have gone to The Book of Taliesyn, but other said In Rock or Machine Head - all great albums, of course.
So which do you think is the best?

Machine Head.

Concerto I've only ever heard once, but it just didn't integrate the two sides very well from what I remember, noodling from the orchestra and then good heavy jamming from the band.
Made in Japan is the one for me.
Pete.

I am a bit biased due to the fact it was the first album I bought.
Not many votes for anything since Steve Morse joined Deep Purple MK???
An excellent guitarist. Perpendicular is definitely worth a listen, if you haven’t already.

What are the better ones?
Other than the obvious choice of Third World War's debut album, of course

Gets my vote for one of the most over-rated albums ever

Difficult - I don't think of ELO or ELP as rock bands: if they are classified as such then Eldorado and Brain Salad Surgery must be as good as rock albums get.
Not sure about Family, they are not rock n roll, but that didn't stop them releasing a string of fine albums. if they are in then Music From A Doll's House is sheer class.
Led Zep - I think they're a rock band - although it's been a long time since they rock n rolled; Deep Purple are definitely a rock band and certainly one the very best - I've always liked them, but wished they'd kept their original singer Rod Evans, listen to The Sheild and you'll hear what I mean - I don't dislike Ian Gillan.
Is Amon Dull II a rock band? Grateful Dead or JA?
It is difficult - HMHB are a folk group IMHO.
Still I think I'd tend to go with the consensus and vote Third World War's debut album as the greatest rock album of all time.

I think you confusing MH with something else, but if I mention the AOR album I have in mind it'll upset loads of forum members, especially the one who put it in the top 1000 albums
