Great LP titles

Posted by: Diccus62 on 16 September 2006

Has anyone got any music with titles (not just LP titles) that really stand out for whatever reason be it humourous, surreal, crazy or just cool.

I'll start if anyone can be boshed.

Yo La Tengo's new album started me thinking

I AM NOT AFRAID OF YOU AND I WILL BEAT YOUR ASS

OTHERS.................

Manic Street Preachers - If you tolerate this your children will be next

The first posting with Yo La Tengo's contribution made me laugh out loud. Many others as well.

I always liked the following titles (and music for that matter)

thankyoufalletinmebemicelfagin - Sly and the Family Stone

and along those lines what about

hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic - Isaac Hayes

And in the category of "Am I really that naive?" or "I never thought about that til this thread.."

In Through the Out Door - Zep. OUCH! The sexual connotations never struck me until I started thinking about these titles.

Also my wife thinks the Beatle's "Please Please Me" is about oral sex. Maybe she is trying to tell me something....

And I also nominate the following just cause they sound cool - some imagery, some alliteration- what ever...The combination of the title and the band name alone would probably get me to listen to the music -

Fresh fruit for rotting vegetables - Dead Kennedys

Saucerful of Secrets - Pink Floyd

Psycho Candy - Jesus and Mary Chain

Paranoid - Black Sabbath

Superfly - Curtis Mayfield

They Only Come Out at Night - The Edgar Winter Band

Mud Slide Slim and The Blue Horizon - James Taylor
