AV2 temperature

My AV2 runs real hot, even in stand-by. Is this normal?

So does mine. I'm told it's normal. I use it is a Pre-Amp also and do play CD's a lot of the time. I've got the 200 Power and 202 Pre on the way so my AV2 will only be used for TV/DVD. It will be interesting to see if it is cooler, even when in standby when not used so much.

The only time your AV2 will run any cooler is when its switched off! They do run warm and thats perfectly normal even when in standby.
Sounds good though!
Hmmm, upgrades.

I've had mine plugged in only for just over 24 hours and it is warm, not hot......
Computers are supposed to work on 1's and 0's - in other words "Yes" or "No" - why does mine frequently say "Maybe"?......

Just bunged a thermometer on top of my AV2, above the transformer (couple of inches behind the display).
Reads about 28 degrees C - nice and toasty. I think they all run hot. I use mine 80% for hi-fi duties (saving for a new pre-amp) so the digital stuff is all powered down.
I don't know why but they all seem to run pretty warm...
