UnitiServe SSD Problems - Help!

Hi all,

 

Have been running a UnitiServe SSD without any real problems.

 

I have just noticed that the US is not showing on my network. Have spent the last 2 hours doing some basic checks but the US when powers up is shown in my network (not recognised by my NDX though) and then I can see it in Desktop Client, then it says reconnecting and disappears!!

 

Any ideas to why this happens, thought I'd try the forum before packing off to my dealer.

Could simply be an IP issue, have you assigned it one or is it on DHCP?

 

If on ethernet check the cable, i.e. plug the cable into a laptop, check that works OK.

Many thanks for the advice - I think you are right. I believe the US got confused with IP addresses. I ended up re-booting the router, US (several times) and finally got a recognised IP address for the US which was stable.

 

Now all working fine!!

For long term satisfaction I would assigning it an IP or reserve one, reserving is probably easiest and is done through the router.

 

Also if you have a NAS or other source of music for the Serve, assign that an IP too.

Had a similar issue myself. Setup my new Unitiserve and the Superuniti did not pick it up!  Reset my router and it's all working now. But I think I'll also have to manually assign everything an IP address. Bit late to mess about with that tonight though.
