DB Power amp

Evening Guys,

I need your help.
I have a Netgear Ready NAS v2 and a Naim NDX.
All of my music was moved off my HDX onto the NAS and converted into FLAC.
I ripped a cd earlier. It appears in the library on the NAS however I cant see it on the N-Stream app on the IPAD or the control panel on the NDX. All of the tracks etc are there if I do a search for it on my pc?
Puzzled?

Help!

Sounds like you need to update the NDX library. You need to tell it to look at the NAS for new files.

It's certainly what I need to do with my Sonos after ripping new discs.

Yes. And if you've done a big move it might be an overnight wait.

Thanks

The library was copied over and has been plying quote happily over the last week or so.

This was the first time I tired to add a new ripped cd.

I just cant get the NDX to see it?

Hi Gaz, this is what I think... the Duo V2 with firmware 5.3.4 is NOT a UPnP server by the looks of it.  Software release 5.3.5 (which is a beta release) has UPnP functionality.

I too have Duo V2 with NDX and all the NDX tells me is 'empty' when I browse to the folders.  Luckily for me, I still have an HDX doing the UPnP serving.

I would say to you download and install the version 5.3.5 firmware:  http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=148&t=62728

I've said it before..."Bon chance" as I believe they say in Salisbury.  (let us know if it works)

Roger

PS - well having read the latest posts, it looks like I'm barking up the wrong tree !!

Yes, version 5.3.5 adds a services panel, not the services themselves.  Ignore any further postings from me...

Nope. The NDX can't do this. It's reliant on the UPnP server - if it can serve the file in a format the NDX recognises then it will play it.

The server on your NAS (is it Twonky?) may just need to re-scan the library before it can make it available for the NDX. Some servers are set up to do this automatically but maybe your needs to be prompted? Also the music you have ripped needs to be in a share being monitored by your server.

The cd has been ripped into FLAC the same as all the other tracks. Any other ideas I can try?

It's the UPnP server that provides the NDX with a library of tracks to browse through. Assuming that the new tracks are in the same place as the others, in a compatible (with the UPnP server) format and with same rights, sounds like you need to nudge the UPnP server software into adding the new tracks into its library - by running a rescan. Cheers Ian

I think i have sussed it out. There is a media folder and a Naim audio folder (Phil created this for me when he copied over my music from the HDX). At first I had the music copied directly into this folder. Now I have moved it into the media folder and N-stream has now picked it up.

Good.
