SBtouch via USB into nDAC, anyone?

Hi there,

I just discovered that there is an app to enable the Squeezebox touch output via USB (in 24/192 btw).

Does that mean that the SBT can be linked to the nDAC via a USB cable, hence not requiring the coax or optical digital connection anymore? if that's the case, is the USB connection any better? Usually the USB stick direct into nDAC is highly regarded. I was wondering if anyone tried already...thanks

I don't think so! The USB on nDAC is only for playback via thumb drive.

I am using SBT with the app that enables 24/192 via coax into the nDAC and it sounds fantastic. It is not as good as using a memory stick into the DAC directly, but the convenience of streaming from the NAS and the advantage of being able to navigate the SBT using iPeng on the iPad makes it worth while.

I'm using SBT 24/192 into SN Dac via coax as well, yes it sounds good with high res.

Haven't you tried/could you try to switch the output from coax to usb, and link the SBT to nDAC via USB cable? just to see if it works and if that's better.

I don't think this will work because the nDAC must "mount" the memory stick making it into a drive but streaming via usb cable from the SBT does not allow for that to happen. I am not sure it will work that way. Maybe others on the forum with more experience will answer.
