24-96 and 24-192 only playing at 44.1kHZ on Superuniti

Posted by: The Bairn on 14 May 2012

I am new to the forum so I apologise if this question ha already been addressed.

I have a Superuniti which is about 1 month old and has the new 24-192 board.  I use a Synology NAS where I store my FLACs, normal, 24-96 and 24-192.  I use n-stream on an iPad most of the time. All were playing nicely then yesterday I noticed that on the iPad display and the SU display that the 24-96 and 24-192 were only playing at 44.1kHz.  I checked the songs on my NAS using Songbird on my Mac and all were definitely 24-96 and 24-192.  I coped a couple of songs from my NAS to an USB stick and the SU played them(via USB/iPod port on front)  and correctly displayed the figures.  Very strange.

I suspect the board has developed a fault and is decoding the files downwards somehow.

Any advice/help appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Try login to your server and go to Media Server settings. On Dma tab, uncheck the Flac/Ape. Logout and retry playing those files. Hope that helps..

does now sound so much better?

Hi,

The sound is good - the SU is still running in so expect it to get better every day.  May be psychological but I think it does sound more open and detailed but sometimes that is what I want to hear rather than fact.
