Connecting HDX to Virgin SuperHub Question

Posted by: GraemeH on 16 May 2012

I've just received a Virgin SuperHub and imminently await the arrival of my HDX.  I've run an ethernet cable from the hub and my understanding is:

1.  With HDX power off I connect the ethernet cable from the hub to the back of the HDX

2.  Power on the HDX

3.  Do I then need to input the SSID name on the Hub into the HDX?  How do I do this if it is necessary?

4.  Does the HDX 'remember' the network after power off?

More questions to come I'm sure but thanks in anticipation.

It's not wireless so no need for SSID. The hub will allocate an IP address to the HDX. It should just be plug and play

Brilliant - Thanks!  G

Update - the Superhub has a very poor wireless range compared to my Belkin router.  I cannot believe Virgin are marketing this as 'wireless'.

I've set it to modem-only and reinstalled the router!

Best way. I'm trying to avoid the Virgin modem upgrade until I have to.

It works fine just as a modem, not much use for routing or wireless.

I have a Superhub connected to an Airport Extreme - great speed - rock solid wireless - TogServe/Uniti connected via cat6 and switch. Job done.
