SpaceX

Anyone else watch the launch this morning ? Well done to all involved after their last second abort on Saturday this was a fantastic start to their test mission.

I'l admit I wasn't as excited as I was when I was a kid watching the Apollo launches but apart from the fact I'm 40 years older that excitement may return once there is some "spam in the can". For reasons I don't understand myself I never got quite so excited about the shuttle - even though it was a more complex system. Maybe it's the pioneering spirit of the rocket that gets me.

Anyway all that aside fingers crossed for the remainder of this test.

Yes - we watched it this morning. A great launch and fantastic news that the mission is going as planned. An interesting challenger to Soyuz in the medium lift market once it's reliability has been proven.

I find it pleasing that few peoples ashes have "gone into space" including an astronaut and a Starship chief engineer.

A retweet from Jon Honeyball :-

"SpaceX's entire history, including rocket design, testing, and launch operations, has cost less than Facebook paid for Instagram."

I personally think that is far better VFM than an image manipulator, but then what do I know?

They've made it to the ISS. A memorable achievement.
