superuniti upnp trouble
Posted by: pro on 23 May 2012
Hi,
I think I am the worst luck man here with superuniti. Everything is fine since I have wired it directly to the router(before it was connected through a powerline adapter). No more network dropout on superuniti. The recent trouble is sometime it cuts out the music and then again comes up while playing through a nas(twonky) or pc. The superuniti shows a message like 'restoring 30%'' etc and then trying to refresh then again comes back to the same point say 30%.
Once I restar(switch off then on)t the unit again back from zero, the problem is solved. In fact, I use the network player function in superuniti at least once a week and everytime the same isssue. Most of the time, I use it with Iphone or other devices as a plain amplifire.
Thanks for your feedbacks and helps.

Have you set the SU's IP as fixed? I've done this via the router for my NU and SU. My NU used to periodically lose the network and since setting the IPs as fixed I no longer get network drop outs.
Cheers

Hi Garyi, the router is D-link DIR-855. Mcghie, yes, every component on my network has an ip fix including the SU.

Was trying out a Uniti for a few days recently and I am using a DIR855 as well but my traffic between my synology DS712 and strenuous goes through a network switch. Connection is rock solid.

I agree but I don't know why this delay comes while in upnp mode and it goes while I restrat the unit.

Mine is a qnap TS119; But no matter what(Qnap/pc), it's always the same. So definitely the source is SU.

If you've isolated the problem to the SU (and assuming no one else has any other suggestions) then I'd refer it to your dealer or direct to Naim.
The only other things that spring to mind to try are:
- restoring SU to factory settings vie the setup menu
- upgrading SU to the latest firmware
Good luck! And keep us posted.
Cheers
