Uniti serve SSS switching off

Posted by: Andrew Lunn on 27 May 2012

Hi
Over the last month or so intermittently I have noticed that my uniti serve SSS has switched it's self off on it's own. Sometimes now while ripping a cd the naim badge will start to flash and it will close down. Sometimes it will switch straight back on by switching the button on the back to on again other times it will have to be left off for a while. But today it was only about half way through the first disc then it started flashing and switched off again. It has now been left for about 4 hours and will not switch on. The unit seem too be quite cold an not hot. Any advice welcome.

Definitely not experienced anything like that. It is not unreasonable that there might be a sleep mode  when not in use for prolonged periods but to shut down whilst actively ripping would seem to be quite inappropriate!  I suspect a call to your dealer is needed...

PS Shame... - I have found the US SSS to be a fabulous piece of "fit-and-forget" kit.

I have a UnitiServe SSD and have never heard that particular problem before. I did have some software problems with the 1.6c upgrade, which Phil Harris (Naim Support) sorted out for me. (He remotely accessed my unit) I'd give him a call first thing in the morning, unless of course anyone has a better idea.

Cheers

Hi sorry it should have been SSD. I have being trying all day but it will not switch on. I have down loaded latest software but the issues were there on the older software too. Andy
