Bloody weather.

Well, at least I watched the last transit of Venus back in '04 through a welder's mask (I'm not a real welder).
This is a screenshot of my iPhone's Skyview app.
Did any of our friends around the world enjoy a better experience?

Also Horizon proggy on BBC HD tonight

BTW they all say it happens once every 100 or so years so I don't know what you saw back in '04 Tony.

Geoff,

The transits happen in pairs, the elements of the pair being separated by 8 years - i.e. the last transit was indeed in 2004. The next instance of the first of the pair is 2117.
