New HDX / NServe 2 Tb software and hardware question

Posted by: Ikoun on 06 June 2012

Hi all,

I was interrogating myself about the new software installed on board and specially how is the process of "uploading" files on the internal hard drive? Is it with the "Desktop Client" or is it possible to do it with a simple file sharing on any omputer. How is it for Mac users who cannot use the client ?

Also, is there an update on the motherboard, do they sound equal as the previous version ?

As the older ones cannot upgrade to the actual version, i would like to know the reel differences between the two machines.

Thank you for your knowledge

Cheers

I understood it to be a CIFS file share so it should work with a Mac, but worth double checking with Naim support ... never understood why they wrote the Desktop Client to only run on one type of computer ... why not a simple web interface.

There has always been a web interface to the servers ... you can get to it by pointing a web browser at the server itself and you can do pretty much everything that you can do via Desktop Client using it (other than adding cover art)...

...and the downloads folder is simply a CIFS / SMB share that you can copy to across the network.
