Here's to windows users!

I love it when people call windows names, it sucks, it's bad, apple is so much better, yada yada yada.

And then they complain that there's no decent ripper on mac, no decent upnp server etc.

:-)

Strange post .. XLD is a perfect ripper for the Mac & Playback works fine if you want UPnP .. I don't use Windows for anything and have no complaints. If Naim required Windows then I wouldn't use Naim kit ... nonetheless, I'm happy those who are still on Windows are able find a ripper and UPnP server and, albeit with a bit of effort, get it to work as they want ... The best way I have found to stream uses neither Apple nor Windows, but the Vortexbox. The best way I've found to feed a Naim DAC is the Mac Mini. However, use whatever works for you .. Nothing special about ripping.

No effort here. dbpoweramp for ripping. synctoy to sync files between pc and nas. I could do asset on my pc, but don't want to leave it turned on.

I thought you were a Synology Linux fan ... Vortexbox is Linux too ... So perhaps we should say Hats off to Linux users ..

Hey MM Have you considered running Windows Home Server (2011) on a small server? It makes a great NAS and there's now a WHS2011 version of Asset UPnP. It also comes with utilities for backing up your PCs on a home network. I'm running it on a HP MicroServer. Cheers Ian

Don't be mean to me.

Do you remember the guy who was trying to paint his speakers a new color? Now that's clever.
