Looks like. They were supposed to be shipping this week and a demo unit was scheduled to be in our lounge next Tuesday. But the dealer unit hasn't arrived (ETA originally last Tuesday) so it seems there has been some slip. No worries. I'll take one when it's properly ready.

Seems to be lot in the factory according to your photos.

Posted on: 07 July 2012 by Harry

Yes. Maybe a couple of dozen scattered about. And still there from all accounts.

Won't be long though.

Hi,

Did you collect? Is it up and running?

Do tell

Posted on: 10 July 2012 by CDI

Sorry chaps, cant get near the dealer until the weekend. It is not my order, I am just first on the list for a demo

Posted on: 10 July 2012 by Dustysox

No problem,

I would still welcome your thoughts.

I will post a full report as soon as I get it home and set up. Story to date (versus my CDS3) - SB Touch a toy, Ndac + SB Touch - too digital but not suprising, NDX bare OK, NDX / XPS nearly there but not quite especially on vocals and still a bit digital and bright. NDS - there lies the question. Assetnas 4TB & ipad 3 ready to go ripped with DB Poweramp and some stuff from Unitiserve / HD Tracks. Really want a 2 box streamer at a maximum so hopefully NDS will be the answer.

Will be after the weekend before I can give my verdict, work away and time with limited - wish I could retire at 46!

good they are trickling in now...

sorry, noddy question.  my unitiserve/ssd is currently hardwired to the net and there is a DC1 cable connecting the U/S to the nDAC. what is the connection setup with the NDS and U/S?

looking at the white paper seems like i now need an additional port on the router for the NDS in addition to the one for the U/S?

Both units connect to the network. Although the protocol doesn't care where on the network they are located, physical proximity is the best bet because the equipment is essentially hard wired together. A number of choices are available to double the ports on your network. We use a bridge with the HDX and NAS ported into it. There are spare ports for a streamer should we buy one.

Hi Ken,

the US will be the UPNP Server for your NDS (UPNP renderer) and they will be connected via your domestic LAN, therefore yes, you will need an additional port on the router for the NDS, and you will not need the DC1 cable anymore.

All the best

Stefano

I always, and like, doing my own installations... my dealer does come around when I ask him to (to verify things) and also performs a sound analysis of the room acoustics, which I find very useful for speaker placement and fine tuning the acoustic treatment that I have, apart from using his very experienced ears

Nds collected today and installed tonight to my old xps2. Have to admit disappointment at the "out of the box" sound compared to the cds3. Initial sound was pretty awful but seems to be improving at a large rate. Wish I had not returned the unitiserve on demo as I find it a bit difficult just with assetnas and a part db poweamp part unitiserve ripped library. Will leave it on all night and report back when less stressed and in a better mood to listen. I think if it imProves at the rate it has over the first 2 hours it will be up with the cds3.Dont like having any naim kit with a blanking plug in though but I am not ready for for 2 x 555ps!
