NaimNet NNP02 Room Amp

Posted by: endlessnessism on 23 June 2012

I managed to buy one of these fairly inexpensively on ebay.

I am in the process of wiring the house and will in due course get a proper NaimNet system installed and configured by my regular dealer, but I'm not there yet.

My question is whether, in the meantime, I can use the NNP02 as a local amp.  If so, how?  It's got a local digital input as well as a couple of local analogues so, conceivably, I could plug-in a Sonos streamer for local listening, or a radio.

I have tried connecting a source and some speakers but no joy and I'm reluctant to fiddle too much.  Quite probably, you need the whole Digilinx / Streamnet thing connected before you can use and control the NNP02, in which case, I'm happy with my bargain and can be patient until I've got the rest of the system up-and-running.  Still, if there's a way I can start to use it locally for the next few months...

Did you ever get the NNP02 working on your own? Or did it take a NetStream installer to get it going?

Does anyone know what is happening with the NainNet stuff now? The old links all point to the Uniti range now.

You need to have the amp configured. Talk to the dealer who is installing. He should be able to get it going. It will require a network connection and the iLinx app to work.

Ummmm, yes, not via a dealer - Placed a bid on an auction site before realising the implications. Hoping now that I get outbid!

Bit like the car service recently, £10 part, £100 to get it fitted.

Will see what happens.

Whew - outbid!

You need the Netstreams software to configure the NNP02, it is unusable without.

Thanks Manu, I came across this old thread after an ill advised bid on an auction site. Doubt the OP is following. Fortunately for me, I didn't win the auction.

Still an interesting bit of kit though.
