Uniti outputs??

Can the 'line outs' of the Uniti be used to supply a Naim preamplifier? From reading the manual it looks that the signal is taken from the dac and before the onboard preamp.

"The stereo line output is intended to be connected to a recording device. It is taken before the NaimUniti volume control so does not reflect volume control changes. The output always reflects the selected input signal."

Yes, I believe it can! The signal is line level with maximum output which the external preamplifier will then control.

You could also use the variable out to AV Unity Gain on a NAC, if you prefer to use the Uniti POT.

Nick,

Is there a variable out?

The manual says the uniti volume control would have no effect.

Do you mean the pre-outs that would usually go to a poweramp?

The DIN, called Preamp Out appears to be variable; the RCA, called Line Out, appears fixed.
