An unusual sighting on the river

A narrow boat on the river may seem quite ordinary to most people but it is not one that I see very often in these parts as the river is the Clyde, and the location was heading upstream towards Port Glasgow.   I am not sure whether it had escaped from Bowling Basin and was returning from a trip down the water - a bit early for Glasgow Fair weekend, or was arriving from another canal somewhere to the south of Cumbria.  If the latter it seems to be quite an unusual and somewhat risky journey although it was a very calm day.  Alternatively it could be the first arrival for a barge convention in support of the hover barge currently moored next to the shipyard in Port Glasgow.  Any canal boat, or other, skippers out there wish to comment?

I cannot shed light but it sounds like fun. We live what was originally a lock house on the Leeds Liverpool canal so narrowboats are our daily companions. I'd have a serious double take if I saw one in open water!
