No sound from Mac through supernait

Posted by: Baz100 on 21 July 2012

Hi all,

My iTunes has stopped playing through my supernait, the cd still works fine and the Mac also works before I connect the toslink. All volumes are up, there is no mute that I can see,

Any ideas, I noticed this having not used iTunes for a while,

Thanks

Check that digital out is set on sound preferences within the main preferences.

Check the input mapping on the SuperNait.

Thanks Guys,

I havent touched a thing honest, I have looked at the online handbook and it's still no clearer so any guidance will be very happily received.

I assume I am going to need the controller for this, so I better get trying to find it !!

Sorry I can't suggest anything but patience with gear containing a single bit of software...

This is how today's music lover becomes tomorrow's IT guru troubleshooter and go-to guy/gal.  No getting out of it.  Enjoy the journey.  It is not all bad!

You don't have to have touched anything. My SuperNait has become un-mapped of its own accord on two occasions. The process to re-map is simple but not intuitive (to me). Just follow the steps in section 19.3 of the manual.

Pull you optical cable from the back of the SuperNait when iTunes is playing. You should see a red glow from the end of the optical core, indicating that the Mini is at least trying to output something.

Also check in "Audio MIDI Setup" in "Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities", not (bizarrely) in System Preferences, that it is set to "Built in Output" over on the left. You select this by "right clicking" and selecting, not (bizarrely) by double-clicking the option. The little speaker icon should be in the same box as the option.
