Back to Black on vinyl

Posted by: Andy1912 on 23 July 2012

I have a copy of this on vinyl which appears to be on Universal Republic: B0008994-01. I've never really been especially happy with the quality of this LP. I have found on at least one other online retailer's site the same LP on Island with a different catalogue number eg 1734128. Can anyone tell me if the catalogue number I currently have is usually fine or not, and whether alternative versions are better pressings?

Thanks

Andy,

I have the original UK Island and US pressing.they were all licensed to Universal-UMG records though.

No diff in sound quality between the two IMO.

It does not seem like a year today that she passed away.

Thanks for that. Funny that I played it today then as I didn't realise it was 12 months ago today. I heard her dad on the radio when I was holidaying in the Highlands just a couple of weeks ago, I think he has a book coming out about her.

Is the quality of your copy pretty decent?

Andy,

They are both ok.

Not the best pressings in the world for SQ.

I bit more sib on a couple of tracks on the us one though.

To be honest i tend to play the back to black double CD set more than the vinyl these days.

Same goes for Frank.

This vinyl still gets a lot of play though.

Have you got a copy?

Andy,

Yes its well worth a punt.

Two very nice SQ  heavy weight LPs.

Still only £11.10 inc shipping from the USA.
