BBC TV in HD

I see that for the Olympics the BBC will be broadcasting some 20+ HD channels on Freesat. Fantastic and good for all sports enthusiasts. I hope that when the Olympics finishes, the BBC can then broadcast all four main BBC channels in HD. But, what's the betting that they go back to the same as exists now pre-Olympics?

I'd guess you're right.

And there's still no BBC Scotland in HD and probably won't be for a while. We get a bright red screen instead. How about BBC Wales and Northern Ireland? It's not like we also have to buy a licence or anything.

HD BBC 1 channel 143 & BBC HD channel 169 here in N.Ireland. Only watching the local news means having change the channel. The BBC HD Olympics Channels on Sky are 450 to 473 no HD Channels are 474 to 497

There will be lots of HD on the red button freesat &freeview channels just for the games.

Ahem. HD on Freeview is of course no longer actually HD as originally defined. Diluted to enable it to work.

Will I be able to record any of this? I have a Panasonic HD TV with both Freeview and Freesat and a Panasonic HDD recorder that just has Freeview.

Check the manual for your TV - My Panasonic TV can record anything received on either its FreeView or FreeSat receivers onto a USB hard disc connected to one of its USB ports...
