Uniti + Buffalo NAS problem

Posted by: kassos on 04 August 2012

I recently had a power cut whilst my system was switched on. Turned everything off during the power cut and then turned it all back on again when power was restored about four hours later. Everything fine except my uniti wll not see one of my Buffalo Nas drives. It sees the back up drive and it sees computers on the system but will not see the main NAS drive. I've tried switching everything off again and back on but uniti will not see it! I think the uniti may have disappeared from my PC as well but it reads the other way fine (ie from the uniti) but I'm sure there was  a symbol and stuff showing me the uniti on the pc that seems to have disappeared.

Any suggestions gratefully received, thanks in anticipation of a simple solution ( I have no problems with being made to look stupid over this!)

Was your Uniti on wireless? if it was the case, have you reset it to the wireless network and entered the wifi password again?

Switching all your network off may have reset IP adresses. Your NAS drive was probably on a static adress, check that with your router.

Thanks for your help. Uniti is on a wired network. It is reading two other PC's, Backup NAS but not the main Buffalo LinkstationNAS. How do I check out the IP address? the Buffalo NAS shows up on the network and I can read and tfr files and use it from my PC but the Buffalo Software cannot find it and says there is no Drive there!

Right click on the buffalo from windows Explorer, Property, and you should have the IP address Enter this address in your browser, you should be able to enter the setup program
