This is mine and has been since the day it came out on vinyl.
Carl and I who replaced Tom when he went to Tunbridge hifi now the Rep for those speakers
James n uses on his Dave B amp,
at Photocraft sat one lunch time and listened on a full spec 1982 LP12 on a M active choc bar pre amp system.
It was so good i got my wife to pic me up another copy,
They could never do a direct cut of it because it was so bloody good to start with.
When CD first came out the first copies had a few tracks missing because ?They said we cant fit them all on.
True at the time because the 2 English blokes that had invented digital compression had not decided where they were going to go with it.
In the end they took the money and let the record majors earn.
The rest as they say is history.
Stu.

XTC one of my very favourite bands. Where to start? I remember first hearing their cover version of All along the watchtower, truly brilliant and totally different!!
Difficult to name my favourite, English Settlement is indeed superb also love White Music, Drums and Wires & a couple of their later ones Apple Venus Volume 1 & Wasp Star.
Then of course there was the Dukes Of Stratosphear!! Andy Partridge musical genius IMO.

The one the critics don't like much - The Big Express. Love those early 80s synth sounds and Partridge's guitar, as well as Moulding's brilliant 'I Remember the Sun'. All very Swindon!
'Oranges and Lemons' is probably their best, though.
Now, how many of you have heard this minor masterpiece, as yet unreleased?

Funny band, XTC. I can't really imagine anyone loving them, but obviously a few people do.
There's none of their albums that I love but I am quite fond of this (even if they do come across as a bit of a poor man's Wire:
And I really like this (and the dub EP that came with it):
After that they became a bit like a post-punk 10CC, nice tunes and clever lyrics, but faintly irritating.
Quite like the Dukes of Stratosphear stuff though.
