Kudos c2 and the Qute?

Posted by: Moobs79 on 12 August 2012

Hi all,

I've got an opportunity to get my mitts on a second hand pair of Kudos C2's for around £800.

I have a UnitiQute and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this combo or these speakers and could tell me if it sounds like a good idea/deal? I'm replacing a set of Tannoy Revolution Signature DC6T's.

Cheers.

Not a natural match. Provided you take it VERY easy with the volume control, the Qute will just about drive them. If you're looking at this as a stepping stone for the next set of electronics, then it sounds like a sweet deal, but if you're looking at it as a long term soluton, I'd be concerned about the Qute having too little power to make sense of the C2s.

That said, if it was so bad that you couldn't live with the combination, you could sell them on for similar money I'd have thought, so at worst it's a relatively low cost venture most likely

Regards,
Frank.

If I were you, I'd wait for a s/h pair of Kudos X2s to show up. The UnitiQute should be able to drive that speaker just fine.

or sell the UnitiQute and get a rega dac/brio-R. I've used that combination with the C2s and they sounded really awesome. Better than with a Naim based system, even though Derek developed the Kudos with Naim...

I've used a Qute with C-10's and X2's.  Worked splendidly.  Not sure, but would have to say the C2's would as well.   I've heard the Rega combo, and would take a nait 5i with Kudos any day, unless the C2's are entirely different.
