Uniti: Fast Forward/Backward in streams?

I have upgraded my 1 year old uniti to the latest firmware 3.16 and tried the latest version of the app and really like the improvements. Older versions were so very slow that it was unusable (maybe of a slow WLAN?). Now it is really fast and the playlist feature is very important, too, for me.

But: It is still not possible to set the playback position in a playing song. I really would like to see the fast forward and backward function to work in the streaming mode. If this worked I would start to look for an apple device (though I do not like apple anymore and would prefer an android version of the app in spite of google. Are there any plans for an android app?).

Now my question: Does the fast back/forward function work if using the right upnp server? Or is it a limitation of the uniti streaming client? If so, is there a chance that this gets implemented with one of the next firmware versions?
