I luckily managed to get a ticket to Anneke van Giersbergen & Danny Cavanagh - An Acoustic Evening -show that was today (or actually yesterday). I was impressed, almost three hours of such a nice music.

Just booked Blackmores Night at Guildford 5th July. Sally's choice this one.

I was lucky enough to see Lyle Lovett/Robert Earl Keen play 2.5 hours of acoustic music. 2 guys and 4 guitars in an excellent listening environment. Always gives me perspective when listening at home. Highly recommended if you have a chance to see them in College Station or Galveston Texas!

Just added...

Todd Rundgren @ Shepherds Bush Empire - Sat 15 June

Got Elton John booked for September at new Leeds Arena then Fleetwood Mac at Manchester in October. Fortunately I'd already booked for Ian Hunter at Leeds City Varieties next month before I booked them, or I wouldn't have felt that I could have afforded the comparatively insignificant price.

Thanks for highlighting Calexico are on tour, otherwise I'd have missed it. Not a common occurrence, apparently their last UK tour was in 2008.

Saw them last night in Manchester, excellent concert. Alternated tracks from the latest album with older tracks, with a superb cover thrown in.

Hope you enjoy it a much as I did.

I hope so too, not looking forward to standing but hoping for a great concert.

Posted on: 17 February 2013 by fatcat

Standing wasn't a problem for me although my wife wasn't too pleased. I wouldn't describe it as a mosh pit more a gentle sway pit.

I was a bit surprised at the age of audience, the majority over 50. I'd expect that at a 70's group gig, but not a group that formed in the mid 90's. They don't seem to attract an audience younger than themselves, at least not in Manchester.

I'm expecting to be the eldest one there!
