That music, that song, that solo: where were you?

I remember driving down Route 66 listening to the Stones's Can't You Hear Me Knocking back in 1977 and It got stuck in my mind. It's one of my favourites guitar solos. The Mouldau in the Montpellier countryside is one of my all time classic pieces. What would yours be and where were you? Classic, Rock and Jazz and fans alike please do post your experiences.

I can't remember, It was that good. G
I remember in early autumn probably in 84', driving from Thurso on the very north coast of Scotland to a place called Strathy, it was a cool clear night with a full harvest moon, gold in colour set in a greenish sky, we were listening to Mike Oldfield Crises which imo is quite an ethereal piece, anyway the light from the moon was reflecting on the lochens ( lochens are small pools of water found in heather and peatland ). It was side one on a cassette. It was one of those experiences that one will never forget as I was left with a feeling of complete peace and harmony, all the elements were in tune with each other that evening. something I have never felt since, shame.
I remember sometime in the 1980's, driving down a dirt road in my 4x4, approaching the Ghost Wilderness and the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies, and "where the streets have no name" was playing on my stereo. A very haunting moment.

I remember last week after a very tough working period and very busy period, me alone on the couch with my glass of bubbles, my Naim kit and Eva Cassidy Live on Blue Pearls ....... completely blown away !
I remember driving from Luxembourg to Germany in a minibus 22 years ago. As soon as we hit the Autobahn across the border, someone put a cassette of the Kraftwerk album Autobahn on. Listening to the full 23 minutes of the title track as we whizzed along was rather magical.
I listened to the Stones performing 'Can't you hear me knocking' live in front of 3000 people at the Colston Hall Bristol in March 1971. Twice.
Those were the days when you could do that.
I remember watching the Route 66 tv show in the 60's.
Still have the theme tune in my head.
One of the best cars to come out of the USA imo.
The late 70's model was nice, but all glass and drove like boat and bounced like a well set up LP12.
Looked good and pulled the birds though.

Nice one Huey, I mean, Stu
I remember listening to this intro on a walkman cassette, sitting in a deckchair on my first cricket tour in July 1983...
"As I mentioned near the close of the last record; this record you are now playing is another example of the completion backward priciple. If you can possibly manage the time, please play both sides at one meeting." - Talk To Ya Later http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eHue2jSw3s
From that moment in sunny Western-super-Mare, the Tubes have made me smile every time Fee Waybill sings, especially on "Attack Of The Fifty Foot Woman".

And they thought it couldn't happen here
i remember being in a hire car driven by my father with most of the family therein and we were stuck in the traffic and the radio was on and playing some dreary drab crooner stuff .. you know fly me to the moon or some such ... when suddenly it switched to pick of the pops with fluf and out of the blue I heard this
I never missed another Alan Freeman Pick of the Pops ... what a fabulous record with a legendary guitar solo
Queen's View, Killarney Co. Kerry , dusk, Intro to "Blackbird" by the Beatles, magical somehow...
