Denon Network Player vs. Qute

Posted by: Gavin B on 12 September 2012

I currently use my Qute as a source into my main system (252/250/Shahinian Compass), mainly for internet radio, DAB and a little bit of streaming (I've only been tinkering really).  A few people have been recommending the Denon DNP720 Network Player for performing this type of duty (admittedly most often through an NDAC).  How would the Denon (bare) compare to the Qute on iRadio, DAB and streaming?

The Denon appears to be very good value for money and this would allow me to use the Qute for a separate system elsewhere in the house.

Any thoughts?

Gavin,

I have not used a Qute in my system as a network player so can't comment.

The Denon works well and sounded  very good into my 282 with a Phono to Din Chord cable when i tried it.

I use it through the naim DAC though as it sits high up on a wall AV rack over 20ft away from my main audio racks.
