Hi - did not finder answer to this in the other thread:
ndx update did not complete, and now shows "firmware update in progress, do not turnoff"
- laptop w windows 7 linked with usb to rs232 adapter (recommended prolific chipset)
- adapter shows up as COM port in device manager
- laptop and ndx wired to same router
- in first try, code transferred 100% but ndx did not restart (prompt said comms failure)
- now when try, installer always connects to ndx, but does not complete transfer to 100% (prompt again says comms failure)
cable is stable and i can always connect to the naim, so dont get why i get comms failure. before update i had 3.13, so that should also not be an issue.
when turn-off and on, display still says firmware update in progress..... so ndx not working.
any ideas or pointers highly appreciated.
cheers
Lars

Hi LarsDK -
Send an email to: support@naimaudio.com
Other than a coincidental hardware failure, I can not think of anything on the NDX side that would prevent the restarting of the upgrade process.
Have you tried rebooting the laptop, and than go right into the Naim update process, without starting up any other apps? Or, do you have any other laptop or PC you could try?
Good luck -- hope you get this solved soon.

Hi
Two things I suggest you check.
1---Are you sure that the update and downloaded has installed correctly on your Laptop.
2---Check that your Laptop and the NDX are shown on your network. On Windows XP you would look in 'My network places'. I do not know if Windows 7 is the same, but there must be something similar.
My NDX updated ok and did so without version 3.13 being installed it was actually two versions earlier. Apparently as long as you have version 3 something on your NDX the version 3.16 will install directly.
Good Luck
