I have an HDX-SSD and I use Plug Player on an iPhone/iPad to pick up the UPnP stream and play from my music library whilst in various parts of the house - this works well.
What I want to be able to do is to do this remotely - say whilst away from home.
Is this possible and if so how do I set this up?
Regards,
John

John, another key consideration is whether you use ADSL to connect your home to the internet. The 'A' in ADSL means your downlink speed is a lot higher than the uplink. Typically your uplink on ADSL2 speed will be around 512kbps - and your downlink anything between 750kbps to 24Mbps depending on your location and servce provider. This means that when you are streaming from your home you will be limited by this uplink speed which means you will need to stream MP3 or AAC and not WAV, FLAC or AIF, Most people 'consume' bandwidth rather than generate it so ADSL speeds are typically quoted for consumers in downlink speeds.
