DIY Fraim

This post is inspired by both the system pics thread and the thread regarding DIY.

I can do DIY mainly because I enjoy it and I like to design and make things, therefore I am loosely considering making my own Hifi rack as I want to keep the rack as compact as possible and to go in a certain place.

This is not a problem as one can buy well machined feet and pins off the shelf and as many of the basses are actually highly lacquered mdf or toughened glass I can make a rack well within the cost of a four tier Fraim (thats not including the cost of my time obviously). The problem is how good it will look.

Whilst I ponder this in more detail, I was wondering whether anyone here has attempted the same thing with successful or disastrous results? And if so could they post up a picture of it?

I guess there may be some over at the system setup post. I know there is the Italian chap who has pimped up an Ikea tv/hifi bench.
