what is going on ???

Have had a pig of a day today, and looking forward to some Bach cantatas, when I got home to soothe the heated brow.  Gripped the iPad, and the Unitiserve/nd5sx doesn't want to know.  the n-serve shows the albums, and a red banner across the screen.  No playing, no information as to what might be wrong, just a red banner.   Play 'control;' is just greyed out.  nothing

Personally I prefer to be able to play some music, and am increasingly hacked off with this useless heap of £4000 worth of kit - to put it very very mildly.  Has anyone else experienced the same ?

I did post a while ago about album titles, and retitling albums on the n-serve.  This I've done, but some discs stubbornley refuse, then to play.  Is this likely to be a related issue, does anyone know ??

regards all

Can you play the files using the (less than user frendly if your eyesight is as bad as mine) remote on the nd5sx? I had similar issues with that streamer with the old software and the last version of the nstream app running on an iPad 1.

I had a bunch of other intermittent issues with that streamer and the iPad app. There were three fixes that sorted these issues out

1. Made sure that my nd5sx went through a switch to the router (especially important as I have a Virgin SuperHub)

2. Gave up on the iPad where necessary and used the remote and front screen of the nd5sx

3. Sold the nd5sx and bought an NDS with the up-to-date software and updated my app

I have had no issues since the new switch and software/streamer updates were done.

What "red banner" across the screen?

nServe shows a red frame when it's not connected and a black one when it is.  Did you go to Settings and "connect?"  nServe is not connected 24/7.

Many thanks both, a red strip, left to right at the top, not a frame, have gone into connections and reconnected.  I am not computer illiterate by any means, but a more informative way of conveying the message/status must be easy to acheive ?
