SSD harddisk

I am told by a friend that by using SSD, his SBT+Naim setup has gone from 3 to 6 on a scale from 1 to 10.

Anyone here has experience on that ?

Where is he using his SSD? Is it the disk in his NAS or has he connected it via USB directly to the SBT?

Google 'Soundcheck mods' for more info. There is also a thread over at the Harbeth forum where a member enthused about a bespoke SSD connected to a Rega DAC sounding better than an expensive CDPLAYER. I have tried the USB mod to the SBT and can vouch that it sounds better than my expensive CDPLAYER.

What do you mean by "USB mod"? Quite interested as I have SBT.
