Anybody using iPhone with Virgin email?

As of yesterday I can no longer receive emails on my iPhone 4s. Nothing has changed that I know of and it has worked fine since I first had an iPhone three years ago.

 

Virgin are adamant it's a problem with the phone and so far I've been unable to get anything sensible from Vodafone support.

 

Any suggestions?

What happens when you attempt to update emails?

Have you tried switching off the phone (fully) and back on again?

Have you tried removing the account and adding it again (password stored in your phone can get corrupted apparently)?

Have you googled the issue?

I've switched off and on, and done hard resets. I can send emails fine. I can receive emails when I use Virgin webmail on my laptop. I've Googled  and found a few references but they generally suggest checking all the parameters, password etc which I know are ok as everything worked perfectly until Sunday morning and Virgin assure me nothing has changed on their end.. Maybe the account has been corrupted as you say.

 

I haven't deleted and re-created the account yet and that's probably my next step.

I recently had this with my iPad and had to recreate the account.  It did solve the problem.  G

I eventually created a new account and the imap server address and port number were completely different from those I'd been using. Maybe they switched the old server off at the weekend. It all seems to work now. Thanks for the responses.
