Thanks for the heads up .... I'll set the recorder in case I'm out or forget ,,,,

I have Kate's live DVD of a concert she did at the Leeds Variety Theatre in the good old days and she is outstanding performer. She also has Bellowhead among her friends so I hope they show up on Thursday.

That was just the best in-concert show i have listened to in ages.

Kate and friends were on top form.

A total of ten people playing together on stage at the same time.

Wonderful music.

It was to short though.

Just ordered her new album.

Howard,

Where are you seeing her?

Kate was fantastic and her guests complemented her perfectly.

I just can't think there is a better live performer around - everybody does the Unquiet Grave: Shirley,   `Sandy, Pentangle, Trees, Gryphon, but Kate did a version like I've never heard before and was just wonderful.

England's brightest star continues to shine

I have her new album on order too ....

Guy,

The BBC offered free tickets to that concert but you were in New England or Quebec City at the time.

They are now offering free Florence & The Machine tickets on the site.

Yes, but it is in London ... not really possible from here, I'm afraid (I subscribe to BBC Audience and have gone to almost everything that has come down here).  However, these days I rarely go to live concerts, because I'm so often disappointed by the sound quality (it never sounds as good as on the record through the Naim system) and audiences that indulge in that crime against humanity - synchronised hand-clapping (I remember years ago applauding with a few others when Planxty asked the audience not to clap along completely out of time to the next song). However, I have to say the standard of playing when it is Kate is impeccable and the audience are nice and quiet - she is one of the few artists I would go to see: she is around these parts in December

I also thought of venturing as far as Lewes if Shirley was doing one her talks, but not on 5th November - for obvious reasons.
