When "musicians" go WAY too far...

Posted by: Thorsten_L on 21 October 2012

A friend of mine made me conscious of an utterly disturbing thing...

I am a big metal-head and I love the music, but when he showed me the behaviour of the guitarist Selim Lemouchi, who heads the much-hyped band "The Devil´s Blood", I couldn´t believe my eyes.

This is disgusting and people like him should be in prison for these acts.

But, considering the now famous satanic "anti-kosmos"-philosophy, what should one expect???

This is where I draw the line, may the music be as good as ____________ (whatever).

Unbelievable.

Thorsten,

Having subjected myself to the "music" on these clips, I have come to the conclusion that I have no idea what you are on about

Burzum, a project by Varg Vikernes (Count Grishnackh) began in 1988 in Bergen, Norway, as Uruk-Hai. The word "burzum" means "darkness" in JRR. Tolkien's language of Mordor; the Black Speech. In 1994 Vikernes was convicted and imprisoned for the murder of guitarist Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth and the arson of three churches. While imprisoned, he recorded two albums using synthesisers, as he did not have access to drums, guitar, or bass. He has recorded three critically regarded albums since his 2009 release from prison. Burzum is considered one of the most influential acts in Metal by Sam Dunn in his film A Headbanger's Journey

He deliberately tries to record his albums in the worst sound quality possible. Quite why anybody would buy his records is beyond me. I became aware of him through Record Collector, which had an article on extreme metal. I have none of his recordings.

Not all of the extreme metal groups share this destructive trait - with Napalm Death and Cathedral not in any way being vilolent or unpleasant (or extreme in the case of Cathedral).  Cradle of Filth are about as extreme as I can manage, so may I suggest something more charming from those wonderful folk, the Floh De Cologne.

Fließbandbaby's Beat Shows remains one of the most daring debut albums despite its age.

The first cut is more egregious to me than the second, when that fool actually gets on the stage - although he is a pussy inasmuch as the bouncers already had the guy constrained before he acts like a "big man" and starts punching and kicking.

As for the first clip, I'd like for him to try that with me; I can promise you in self defense it wouldn't end well for him at all...he wouldn't be in any condition to get back on the stage.  Just because you are on stage doesn't make it not an assault.

In any event, he's obviously a jerk who needs to be taught a lesson, either legally or otherwise.

+1 ... they don't look as intimidating as Alice Cooper, who is a really nice guy, despite his releasing a song to claim he was not going to be so.  Perhaps I'm missing something as the video is dark and the music is rubbish.

Spinal Tap - the Directors Cut.

Hilarious start to the 2nd film....(they actually spend time 'tuning' before standing with their backs to the audience - who appear totally disengaged from the whole 'performance').
