Nstream album art not showing but nserve is OK!

Posted by: rjstaines on 24 October 2012

I have jut spent 3 days updating all my MP3 album art with the Bliss product that was mentioned on the forum a couple of weeks ago.

I use an HDX server and an NDS UPnP renderer, with MP3s stored on a NAS, managed by the HDX.

In nserve I see all the album art when scrolling through 'albums', but in nstream some is missing on the 'albums' screen, but then when I select an album to play in nstream the next screen (with the track list) shows the album art OK.

So it's like there's a cache in the NDS that is not being updated by the HDX ??

Does anyone know how these two boxes work together when displaying artwork, or anyone know how to 'refresh' the NDS cache?

There's no problems with ripped albums or with FLAC HD downloads, just with MP3s.  But all the MP3s have both embedded art and a folder.jpg file, courtesy of Bliss.

Anyone else seen this happening?

My 2 cents. Try to find out if the album art attached to mp3 are of front cover type. If it is another type the album arr will not display as I have experienced. You can use mp3tag program to find the cover type and change if necessary. Hope it helps

Thanks Sam.

With help from Phil from Naim, I discovered the 'Clear Image Cache' button in the n-serve app.  After clearing, all the images are re-loaded almost instantly and guess what... they're all there just as they are in n-serve.

...and for everyone who's thinking "well obviously you'd do that"...   you're quite right, but I didn't.
