I suspect you could take the digital signal out of the UQ into the DAC but would then need to pass the DAC's analogue signal into some sort of integrated or pre/power combo amplification (rather than reroute it back through the UQ), which might defeat the objective of an all-one-system! Cheers Ian

That's how I run, from Vortexbox into a 'Qute and a Superuniti. I don't see that a DAC an improve the sound in these circumstances.

UnitiQute has been designed to be used as standalone system so you do not need any DAC. However, it might be possible to use one but that will complicate matters as Ian described and personally I doubt the benefits (but I have not tried though).

If you have a vortexbox appliance cant you run it direct via a usb DAC using Vortexbox player function then into the qute?

"5. Vortexbox player can support upto 192-kHz 24-bit files. For ultimate quality most external USB DACs can connect to VortexBox appliance for connection to a HiFi amplifier."

The op talks about routing the dac back into the qute. I still don't see how that is going to be better than delivering 192 kHz files via the network. If you're talking about going to a higher quality amp and dac then the qute is moot surely
