AV Receiver to NAC82

Hello all,

I am looking at adding an AV setup to my main system. Looking to use my 82/scap/135's NBL's for the front speakers then AV receiver for the rest.

Searching the forums I can see this can be done using a pre-out section on the AV to the 82, and found a lot of other useful setup information as well.

What I am struggling with is, where I can find the pre-out specs on some AV amps (which is hard enough) they list output as 200 mV/470 Ω. The NAC82 manual lists the input sensitivity as 75 mV/100K Ω. So, can I connect this?

Thanks in advance.

Simon,

I think the short answer is yes. I did the same thing several years back with a 252 and a Sony A/V receiver without issue. The 75mV sensitivity on the 82 means that this is required to achieve full output. 200mV is unlikely to cause overload and in any case I presume that this is the maximum available level from the A/V receiver. These are only my thoughts and perhaps someone with more in-depth kowledge will confirm or otherwise.

At the end of the day if it sounds OK then all should be well. If you were causing overload or if there was a significant impedance mis-match then I think it would be only too obvious from the sound.
